In one of our series of self-care posts, our counselling student, Tanja has created a Guided Mindfulness Practice.
Tanja has been working with our staff to better support residents, particularly during COVID-19 but also as they adjust to life in aged care. Transitioning into aged care is a huge life change, not only for the residents but for their family and friends.
Mindfulness, a type of meditation practice, to help focus on the here and the now, and what you are feeling and sensing in the moment. It is a skill that takes practice to develop, however, is considered worthwhile and valuable to help reduce stress, relax the body, and reduce anxiety.
