Managing stress and anxiety

Our Meditation series continues with a mindfulness post based on the ‘box breathing’ technique.
This is a very simple exercise for stress management which is also known as four-square breathing. It involves exhaling to a count of four, holding your lungs empty for a four-count, and inhaling at the same pace, and holding air in your lungs for a count of four before exhaling and beginning the pattern again.
Once you have found a rhythm it is considered a very effective tool for stress management and reducing anxiety.
Give it a try and see how you go.
Thank you to Tanja who is doing a fabulous job and putting these exercises together.
