- On 10/05/2019
MannaCare has celebrated the opening of its upgraded facility. On Thursday 9th May the upgraded areas were officially opened by the Hon Kevin Andrews MP, Federal Member for Menzies.
The past eighteen months have been a hectic time at MannaCare as the old was demolished and the new, constructed. Sherry-Ann Bailey, General Manager – Operations revealed, “The past months have been busy and challenging for residents and staff during the various stages of the building works; as well as maintaining ongoing operations. We are delighted with the results and transformation.”
Once the official opening was concluded, an afternoon tea with refreshments was enjoyed. Guests were then able to experience the new Banksia wing with a guided tour.
Particular acknowledgement goes to representatives of Manningham Council, Doncaster East and Templestowe Village Community Bank Branches Bendigo Bank, BassCare and the Larkin family.
CEO Ross Dawson states, “We are looking forward to the residents having access to the upgraded facilities which are now right up to community expectations.”
The new facility is impressively light and spacious in design. Residents now have access to wide open spaces, a manicured courtyard and a dining room which opens onto a large balcony overlooking the northern ranges. For the safety and care of residents, communal areas such as the lounge, corridors and balcony will be monitored by cameras with LED lighting on hand railings along the walls.
